Remembering Dr. Michael George (September 14, 1978 – June 14 – 2024)

Dr. Michael George was the chief surgeon and medical director of Tylock-George Eye Care from 2016 to 2024. Beloved by patients and staff, Dr. George had extensive surgical experience in the most advanced LASIK surgery procedures. He prided himself in helping provide patients to better eyesight using leading surgical techniques to improve vision.

Dr. George received his medical degree from Louisiana State University, where he graduated in the top 10% of his class. He was honored to be chosen as Intern of the Year in 2008 for the Louisiana Charity Hospital System. Following that, he completed his comprehensive ophthalmology residency training at the prestigious University of Louisville Lions Eye Center in Louisville, Kentucky. He then went on to perfect his surgical skills by completing his corneal and refractive surgery fellowship partnering with the highly acclaimed surgeon, Dr. Ming Wang, of the Wang Vision Institute in Nashville, Tennessee. There he was a leading provider in performing 3D LASIK and Cataract surgery on thousands of patients.

Dr. George joined Dr. Tylock’s practice in 2012. Dr. George and Dr. Tylock were the first surgeons in Texas to use the advanced WaveLight Refractive Suite Laser. Using cutting edge LASIK techniques he has helped thousands of patients to enjoy life beyond glasses and contact lenses. Dr. George is also a specialist in cataract and lens implant surgery. This surgery is used to implant the Crystalens®, ReSTOR®, and Tecnis Multifocal® intraocular lenses, allowing patients in their late 40’s and older to see at far as well as near. Dr. George is an EVO Visian ICL Certified Surgeon. Using cutting edge LASIK techniques, he helped thousands of patients to enjoy life beyond glasses and contact lenses. Dr. George was also a specialist in cataract and lens implant surgery. Official LASIK Surgeon of the Texas Rangers

Dr. George was very proud to have been chosen as the official LASIK surgeon of the Texas Rangers baseball team. He has performed LASIK on many top athletes, coaches, and celebrities.

The doctors and professional staff at Tylock-George Eye Care have been awarded year after year by their peers and patients for providing exceptional customer service and corrective eyesight restoration results. The practice celebrates having provided the Dallas Forth Worth community over 30 years of bringing top quality vision correction surgery to the North Texas community and beyond. Dr. George was board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and was a Fellow with the American Association of Ophthalmology. His writings and research have been published in numerous major scientific journals. Dr. George dedicated his life’s work to providing the highest level of care for each individual patient.

Dr. George will be monumentally missed by patients, colleagues, and the Dallas-area community.
