Jon was born and raised in Queens, New York. He attended Cornell University, where he majored in Applied Economics and Management. In 2005, at the age of 28, Jon Daniels became the youngest General Manager (GM) in baseball history. Baseball America recognized the Rangers as having the best farm system following the 2008 season and in 2010 Jon Daniels was named the Baseball America Major League Executive of the Year. Under his management, Jon Daniels led the Texas Rangers to four consecutive seasons of 90 wins or more (2010 through 2013). He also guided the Texas Ranger’s franchise to its best post season performance, appearing in two consecutive World Series in 2010 and 2011. Currently he serves as both General Manager and President of Baseball Operations of the Texas Rangers.
